The Danger of Hypocrisy in Life
A hypocrite is a person who commits it showing Islamic and goodness but hiding disbelief and evil. From the above understanding it can be said that hypocrites are often not in line between words and actions. Therefore, we must stay away and be vigilant because their behavior and actions are very dangerous. The dangers of hypocrites as mentioned in the Qur'an include the following:
1. Aims to Make Chaos
The characteristics of hypocrites include frequent treason, lying, and fighting each other. The goal is to create chaos. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the letter At Taubah verse 47 as follows:
Had they gone forth among you they had added to you naught save trouble and had hurried to and from among you, seeking to cause sedition among you, because there are some who would have listened to them. Allah is Aware of evil-doers. (QS.At Taubah : 47)
2. Commanding to Evil
Hypocrites often order evil and forbid others to do what is right. In the letter At Taubah verse 67 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says :
The hypocrites, both men and women, proceed one from another. They enjoin the wrong, and they forbid the right, and they with hold their hands (from spending for the cause of Allah). They forget Allah, so He hate forgotten them. Really the hypocrites, they are is transgressors, (QS: At Taubah 67)
3. The Social Divide
It has been mentioned earlier that hypocrites are very dangerous even more dangerous than unbelievers because they often play with religion. The nature of hypocrites like this can lead to the division of the ummah, the destruction of Islam from within, and destroying a country. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the letter Al Hujurat verse 6 as follows.
Hi who believe! If an evil-liver bring you tidings, verify it, lest ye smite some folk in ignorance and afterward repent of what ye did (QS:Al Hujurat:6)
The hypocrites are very hated by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam so we are ordered not to follow them, stay away and be wary of their actions. Like In Surah Al Qalam verse 10-11 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says:
And do not follow everyone who swears a lot and is contemptible. Those who criticize a lot, who are increasingly scattering slander (QS: Al Qalam 10-11)
The recompens for the hypocrites is hell. Allah says in Surah Al Baqarah verse 206 as follows.
And when it is said unto him: Be careful of thy duty to Allah, pride taketh him to sin. Hell will settle his account, an evil resting-place (QS: Al Baqarah: 206)
Wallahu a’lam.
